NEW YORK – Today, Alison Esposito, a 25-year veteran of the New York Police Department (NYPD), former candidate for Lieutenant Governor, and Candidate for Congress in New York’s 18th Congressional District, released the following statement after Congressman Pat Ryan voted against delivering needed financial support to Israel as they battle Hamas:
Pat Ryan left Israel behind on the battlefield. He voted against a House Republican led bipartisan Israel funding bill. He claims it’s because there are conditions attached to the legislation. The only conditions related to this bill were delaying the rapid expansion of the IRS and supporting Israel. Ryan voted against standing with our ally Israel because he wanted to drastically increase the size of the IRS and go after middle-class taxpayers. His priorities do not represent the Hudson Valley region. In my nearly 25 years as an NYPD Officer, I never let one of my fellow officers fend for themselves. When I have your back, I never waiver, especially in times of trouble. We need leaders who support our allies, not leave them behind in times of need.
