For Immediate Release:

Goshen, NY – On October 8, 2024,  Alison Esposito, a 25-year veteran of the New York Police Department (NYPD), former candidate for Lieutenant Governor, and Candidate for Congress in New York’s 18th Congressional District, received the endorsement of the Detectives Endowment Association (DEA). The Detectives Endowment Association is the labor union for 18,000 active and retired New York Police Department Detectives.

Given your exemplary background as a Deputy Inspector of the NYPD, we know that you will fight for the needs and concerns of New York’s and the nation’s law enforcement Officers, especially those who proudly wear the shields of the New York Police Department. We look forward to working closely and productively with you on any and all issues that affect law enforcement, organized labor, civil servants, public safety, and the criminal justice system. We will be counting on you for your support and endorsement of our political and legislative agenda in this era of attacks against the police. We have a long fight ahead of us to ensure that the hardworking men and women of America’s national, municipal, and State labor forces are not unfairly targeted as scapegoats for any political or economic woes of our great City, State, and Nation.

Scott Munro, President Detectives Endowment Association Inc.

This endorsement comes immediately after a recent Emerson College poll revealed that Esposito is closing the gap in the race, signaling growing momentum in her campaign. The DEA’s backing further strengthens her law-and-order credentials as she moves into the final days of the campaign.

Since beginning her campaign in October of 2023, Esposito has been endorsed by numerous law enforcement organizations including the: National Border Patrol Council, NYPD Superior Officers Association Retired, New York 10-13 Association, Westchester Policemen’s Benevolent Association Inc., Sergeants Benevolent Association, Lieutenants Benevolent Association, Captains Endowment Association, Police Conference of New York, New York State Union of Police Associations.
